Zhangjiajie
Today’s Itinerary: Zhangjiajie National Forest Park – Bailong Elevator – Yuanjiajie – Tianzi Mountain – Charming Xiangxi Show

After breakfast, take a bus to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. Board the park’s eco-bus to the lower station of the Bailong Elevator, then ride the 326-meter-tall Bailong Elevator, which shoots up into the clouds in just 66 seconds, offering stunning views along the way. Explore the Yuanjiajie Scenic Area: from the viewing platforms, take in the breathtaking panorama of thousands of peculiar peaks—majestic, precipitous, elegant, and wild, each with its own unique character. Highlights include the No. 1 Bridge under Heaven, Mihun Terrace (Enchanting Platform), and Hallelujah Mountain (the inspiration for the “Floating Mountains” in the film Avatar).

Next, take the eco-bus to the Tianzi Mountain Scenic Area (downhill cable car included). Famous sights here include Jinbian Rock, Luohan Rock, the Three Sisters Peaks, and the Immortal’s Bridge. These formations resemble jade bamboo shoots, brush holders, stone forests, sharp swords, heavenly gates, arch bridges, jade screens, castles, and lighthouses; many also look like human figures, birds, and animals. Renowned for their “uniqueness, wildness, peril, seclusion, and elegance,” these landscapes are hailed as “peerless scenery on Earth” and “wonders of the world.”

In the evening, enjoy Charming Xiangxi, a folk-cultural performance directed by Feng Xiaogang. The show is a microcosm of Xiangxi culture and the soul of Tujia customs, blending strength with grace and showcasing the perfect harmony between life and nature.

Helpful Tips:
1. Lunch on the mountaintop is inconvenient; please prepare substitute meals or snacks in advance.
2. Zhangjiajie is a mountainous scenic area. Wear sports shoes or flat-soled shoes; high heels are strongly discouraged.
3. While touring, follow the rule “stop walking when admiring the view; do not admire the view while walking.” Watch your step and stay safe!
